If you think Arizona is sunny year round, you’re not wrong. However, it does get chilly enough for some blanket cape/scarf action for a hot second (or cold second??), OTK boots and warm and rich colored turtle neck sweaters. I’m taking advantage of these warm wardrobe staples as much as I can right now with my January subscription box from L.V. Kiki (Just $19/month for a handful of accessories), considering that next month it could technically be pool season already!

This month’s L.V. Kiki box came with plenty of goodies that’ll keep you warm for the rest of winter: an oversized blanket cape that really is just like wearing a snuggly blanket while you’re going out for brunch, the store, wherever you’re going, a chic fedora to cover up that four-day old hair, and a sparkling, drusy pendant necklace that ya girl is swooning over. No joke, I have about 30 drusy pieces in my jewelry collection.
I completed this Arizona’d out Winter OOTD with my favorite leather SKORT. Yes, skorts are cool again, friends, this burnt-orange GUESS sweater that pretty much looks like a PSL in sweater form if you ask me, my new Catherine Malandrino OTK boots that I scored at Marshalls for $40 (don’t underestimate the power of stores like Marshalls — you NEVER know what you’ll score), and of course my favorite Tory Burch crossbody bag.
Anddd if you’re one of those people who thinks that wearing long sleeves with a skirt/shorts is totally a fashion no no, I’m here to tell you that a) I’d like to think there are no rules in fashion. If it works on you, it works! and b) Arizonans get hot flashes in the winter (not joking), so this is basically the perfect weather-controlled outfit!
For this week’s post, I headed back to my hometown in Estrella Mountain Ranch. I actually sat/stood in some of the EXACT places I took my senior high school photos…might be kind of fun to do a side-by-side photo comparison with these new photos. Anyways, if you live in the Phoenix area and you’re looking for a place to stargaze, hit up Estrella’s Star Tower, where you can get a gorgeous, 360 view of the Estrella Mountains and take in the silence of the desert.
