You knew it was coming — I couldn’t live in Iowa without showing you guys the gorgeous fall leaves and fall things to do here in the Midwest. Everyone told me that I HAD to visit Center Grove Orchard, where you can pick apples and pumpkins on a cute farm (aka what you think Iowa looks like everywhere), so Abigail and I headed there to see what all the fun was about!
Now, I was wayyy underdressed. I may look all smiles here, but I’m totally shivering underneath that grin. I could’ve used a Snuggie for sure. Luckily, we were only there for about an hour — just enough time to grab some yummy cider, wait for a hay ride and make the trek to the pumpkin patch. Meanwhile, we snapped some very farmer-like photos in the front of the barn building on the haystacks.
And it just so happened that L.V. Kiki, an accessories subscription box service ($19/month), sent me a loot of fall essentials perfect for picking pumpkins. I’ve mentioned the company before on the blog, but I’m happy to announce that I’ll be showcasing their boxes every month for you guys to see what goodies you can expect in the box!
I’m also wearing my new fav jeggings from abercrombie (seriously, I live in them) and a chic little trench jacket that my sweet friend Ally gave me for my birthday. Definitely wasn’t Iowa-weather friendly, but I know I’m going to get a ton of use out of them over Thanksgiving break back in the desert.
This is just the beginning of all the fall happenings here in Iowa. The leaves have been changing and falling for almost a month now, which means that winter is just around the corner…
